Fractional Laser Treatment in a Fraction of the Time

The latest advance in the treatment of aging skin is known as fractional laser, now available at Midwest Dermatology Clinic with ActiveFX, DeepFX and TotalFX, a fractional treatment by the makers of the Ultrapulse laser. Fractional laser, sometimes referred to as bridge therapy, is performed in a single treatment with minimal downtime. Using fractional laser technology, physicians deliver a pattern of thousands of tiny laser pulses, leaving surrounding tissue intact to form bridges of healthy skin. This stimulates the growth of new collagen and leaves your skin smoother, all with only one treatment and minimal healing time. Following ActiveFX treatment, you'll look and feel fantastic!

Double Duty

With ActiveFX, you get two actions in one. As CO2 laser penetrates the outer layers of the skin, it eliminates discoloration at the surface. The laser then takes aim at fine lines and wrinkles below the surface, penetrating heat to smooth lines and wrinkles, and tighten loose and sagging skin. It also stimulates formation of new underlying collagen, proteins that strengthen and connect the skin. As a result, the skin continues to firm and tighten, even months after the procedure.

ActiveFX is used when skin shows moderate signs of aging and exposure to the elements and is effective in treating:
  • Fine lines and moderate wrinkles of the face, especially around the upper lip, cheeks and forehead
  • Loose eyelid skin
  • Crow's feet around the eyes
  • Pucker marks and frown lines around the lips and mouth
  • Brown spots and splotchy, uneven skin tone
  • Superficial scars, especially acne scars
  • Loose skin around the neck and jowls
Smoother skin with more even tone, all in a single treatment, that's the "double-duty" power of ActiveFX.

Timing is Everything

What really makes ActiveFX stand apart from other resurfacing procedures is time - or the lack of time - involved in the process. The office based treatment itself takes less than 30 minutes, and patients go home shortly afterwards. Most patients are back to a normal lifestyle in as little as three to four days. To get you back to everyday life, lotions and makeup can be applied after the fourth day. Most signs of treatment, including pinkness, are gone in about a week.

While other fractional systems take up to five or six treatments, ActiveFX gets the job done in one single treatment. Results you want, minimal down time and one trip to the doctors office - that's what you can expect with ActiveFX.

Comfort Ensured

At Midwest Dermatology Clinic, your comfort is our concern. That's why we offer the Zimmer Laser Cooling system, or the "Zimmer Chiller" to keep you relaxed and "cool" throughout the treatment. Unlike other cooling methods, the Zimmer system cools the skin by blowing chilled air onto the skin's surface during and after the entire procedure. It minimizes discomfort and reduces redness after the procedure. The Zimmer Chiller features six different air flow rates so patients can receive the cooling intensity they prefer.

Right For You

ActiveFX is the perfect solution for active people who want to erase moderate signs of aging including moderate wrinkles, sagging skin, or age spots on the face, neck or chest. For deeper wrinkles or scars, and more severe aging, Midwest Dermatology Clinic offers DeepFX, a fractional treatment that penetrates deeper into problem areas. And, by combining ActiveFX with DeepFX, doctors can deliver an enhanced treatment called TotalFX to patients with a combination of aging concerns.

If your maturing skin does not reflect the way you feel on the inside, the physicians of Midwest Dermatology Clinic can change the way you look and feel - with new FX fractional laser treatment.
