Remove Unwanted Tattoos
With Q-YAG laser, Colorful Tattoos Virtually Disappear

Laser technology has long been recognized for its effectiveness in removing tattoos. Years ago, only blue and black colored inks could be removed. Now, using the Palomar Q-YAG 5 laser, tattoos of all sizes and colors can be erased without damage to the outer skin.

Make a Change

Demand for tattoos is growing. And with rapidly improving technology, the demand to remove them has also grown. There are a variety of reasons to make this change. A new job may require a change of image. A tattoo may fade or become fuzzy over time. Some tattoos hold memories that need to be erased. In any case, advanced laser tattoo removal at Midwest Dermatology Clinic is a safe and effective solution.

Remove Every Color

The Q-YAG 5 laser uses specific light pulsed at a rapid speed. When targeted at varying ink colors, the light passes through the outer layers of skin without damage and the rapid absorption of light energy shatters tattoo ink into tiny particles that are easily expelled by the body's natural filtering process. This causes the ink color to fade and the skin to return to its normal tone. There is no visible scarring left from treatment.

The YAG laser removes all tattoo colors. Black, red, dark blue and dark orange respond the best, requiring fewer treatments for complete clearing. Harder to treat colors such as yellow, green and purple may require additional treatments to achieve the same clearing. But with time, nearly all tattoos can be removed using this technology.

Office Procedure

Laser tattoo removal is so safe and easy that it can be done in the comfort of the office. And because the laser is focused on the ink and not the skin, treatment is relatively painless. The light is administered in pulses, which many patients compare to the sensation of being snapped by a small rubber band. While topical anesthesia (numbing medication applied to the skin) is available, most patients complete the procedure comfortably without it.

There is no down time after the procedure. Patients return to normal daily routines immediately after treatment.

The number of treatment sessions needed for optimal results varies according to the size, location, color and depth of the tattoo. Some take only 2-3 sessions, while others require multiple treatments.

With the Q-Yag 5 laser, tattoos are virtually erased - permanently.
