The Q-YAG 5 laser uses specific light pulsed at a rapid speed. When targeted at varying ink colors, the light passes through the outer layers of skin without damage and the rapid absorption of light energy shatters tattoo ink into tiny particles that are easily expelled by the body's natural filtering process. This causes the ink color to fade and the skin to return to its normal tone. There is no visible scarring left from treatment.

The YAG laser removes all tattoo colors. Black, red, dark blue and dark orange respond the best, requiring fewer treatments for complete clearing.
